Director - Choreograph - Dancer
Born
in Malaga in 1966, he trained as a dancer in Angers, Madrid, Barcelona and
New York, specializing in contemporary dance, jazz and classical ballet.
His
teachers include Anne-Marie Porras, Carmen Senra, Rui Horta, Rudy Bryans, Arnaldo Paterson and Toni Escartín
and in the course of his now lengthy career, he has danced with well
established companies like Transit, Danat Dansa, Carmen Senra, Alain
Gruttadauria, Ziradanza, Blanca Arrieta, and Lanònima Imperial.
He has
danced under the direction of Guillermo Heras and Denise Perdikidis, and has
performed works choreographed by Ramon Oller, Juan Carlos García. Aside
from his intensive activity as a director, choreographer and dancer, Fernando Hurtado
has developed an important role as a teacher in Spain and Central America. The
founding of his own company, together with his choreography, have won him
recognition by the Press and a faithful following among the Dance Public,
resulting in his being considered one of the most innovative and solid
choreographers in the country.
